6. Module Plugin

Some new features can be added to Audacity using experimental modules. To load modules into Audacity requires a person to follow certain steps. The first requirement is to add the "Modules" folder within the installation folder of Audacity. The second step involves adding the files like mod-nyq-bench.dll (Windows) or mod-nyq-bench.so (Mac OS X) in the folder "Modules". Then, the person must resort to restarting Audacity and opening the "Modules preferences". It can be seen that the file is showing as new, and this means that no choice or preference has been made yet. Now the person has to click the drop down and shift it to "Enabled". After changing, the person needs to pres "OK" and then restart Audacity. As soon as Audacity restarts, a person can see the different modules to work on as per his or her preference.

You can download and install plug-ins or libraries to add extra functionality to Audacity. Plug-ins can give you extra effects, or more audio generation and analysis capability. Adding libraries can allow you to import or export additional audio formats.

Plug-in Installation

To install new LADSPA or Nyquist plug-ins, place them in Audacity’s Plug-Ins folder. On Windows computers, this is usually under “Program Files/Audacity” on 32-bit Windows or “Program Files (x86)/Audacity” on 64-bit Windows.

On Mac OS X/macOS, use ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/Plug-Ins.

Then use the Plug-ins Manager to enable the new plug-ins as in the plug-in installation instructions above.

"Warning Hyjackers and DNS rerouters"

Didn"t get to core product.

This has had a bunch of browser hyjack software added. It took over IE, Firefox and Chrome. Included search engine, web suggester, shopping spyware, DNS re-router.

This forced me to re-install all browsers. One hint should have been that it wants administrator authority to run. I should have been more careful but I relaxed too much on download website.

FYI: Original target file "LADSPA_plugins-win-0.4.15.exe" was re-routed to
"cbsidlm-tr1_9-Audacity_LADSPA_plugins_installer-ORG2-10607999" An after thought is that it is probably not this products fault for trojan file.

Seem like there are a hell of a lot of good looking
plug-ins. Gonna be fun to check them out!

I wish they would have a more comprehensive tutorial
or help on using these things. I bet I"m missing out on
a lot of simple things to do to my sound files.

No real thumb up or down, still checking it out. A bit overloaded with how many you get here!

Audacity software and those who created it go against the old saying, "you can"t get something for nothing." Now once again we get a whole bunch more wonderful plug ins for free and they work beautifully.

I once bought this Music Production Software and it was the "DELUXE" version and yet to use the plug ins, well that"s extra money I was going to have to pay. Deluxe?? There is not one feature in Audacity Software that has a "catch" to using it. It must be that the developers are educated and obviously understand the meaning of the word, "free".

To the developers of Audacity software I say, thank you very much.

P.S. This software is especially great for those who do alot of vocal editing.
